Six indulgent hot chocolates you must try in London

Anybody else just want to hibernate every winter? Finding ways to keep warm in these icy winter temperatures and still lead a pretty normal social lfie is key to a successful January and February (and possibly March!)

Lucikly, London is well prepared with some of the best hot chocolates around town and I’m here to let you know where you NEED to go to get them!

Said Dal 1923

Has to be one of my favourites in London. This cute little chocolate shop and cafe can be a bit on the pricey side, but so worth it when you see and taste their hot chocolate. Your hot chocolate cup is covered with dark, milk and white hot chocolate which you can lick off the side! The hot chocolate here is thick and indulgent (you could drink it with a spoon) but does absolute wonders in these cold conditions. You can have a read of my full review here.

Dominique Ansel Bakery

This blossoming hot chocolate comes complete with marshmallow flower that delicately opens up on top of your hot choc. Instagrammable much? But if that doesn’t sell it to you it also isn’t thick or too sugary so it can be enjoyed whilst the marshmallow melts on top. You can also grab yourself a cronut or DKA to eat alongside. Perfect.

17-21 Elizabeth St, Belgravia, London SW1W 9RP

Basically chocolate heaven, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Their hot choc is made with a mix of dark, milk and white chocolate and is topped with a generous topping of whipped cream, little chocolate biscuits and a chocolate straw. Based off Carnaby Street it’s a great location for a shopping hot chocolate pit-stop. For a chocolate fix you’ll love Choccywokkydoohdah, try the Amaretto Cake too!

 Crepe Kings

If you love marshmallows then Crepe Kings is for you. Their decadent hot chocolate is topped with a generous scoop of marshmallow fluff which is toasted before being served to you. Then it’s time to fight through your marshmallow cloud to get to the hot chocolate, if you love your hot choc pretty much as a dessert this one’s for you.

Dark Sugars

The hot chocolate here is something special. Classic, hazelnut praline, white matcha, white saffron, salted caramel, Irish hot choc, dark, the possibilities are endless, they all come topped with milk, dark and white chocolate shavings which you can stir into your cup for an extra chocolatey taste. You can also choose from a selection of different dairy-free milk which is super tasty and helpful! Not only do they have amazing hot chocolates, but rows upon rows of hand-crafted chocolate truffles all made from the fienst Ghanain chocolate. If you’re in Brick Lane I’d definitely recommend getting down to Dark Sugars.

La Churreria

Want a hot chocolate to wash down those churros, then La Churreria in Camden is the perfect place. Complete with toasted marshmallow and whipped cream, the hot chocolate is perfect to accompany their epic churros as it isn’t too sweet or sickly but still hits all the right spots.
